Hendersonville is one of the most dog-friendly towns in Western North Carolina, so it’s no wonder that people who love their fur babies love living here. Pet-centered events such as “Tails in Town” and “Strut your Mutt” are hosted annually during the summer and fall months respectively. Both offer dog-specific activities and vendors offering pet products.

Hendersonville also has a plethora of dog-welcoming breweries, upscale pet boutiques, vacation rental spots, dog parks, walking and hiking trails, and many restaurants with outdoor patios. In fact, it’s not an uncommon sight to be walking downtown and see several dogs walking alongside their owners, living their best life.

5. The Park at Flat Rock- The Park at Flat Rock is a golf course turned park that has a mile and a half of easy walking trails suitable for all generations to enjoy. 6. Bill Moore Community Park- Bill Moore Community Park is a two-for-one human and dog park located in Fletcher. The dog park is fenced in where dogs can play off leash and is split into two areas, one for big dogs and one for little dogs, and has basic agility equipment for dogs to play on. The park itself offers many miles of trails, picnic tables, a playground and baseball fields for all to enjoy. If you bring your dog, they must remain on a leash unless in the dog park areas, and you will still need to clean up after them on the trails.
