Those born between 1991 - 1996 are moving the industry along. Amongst those is the small fraction that have military service in their background and are eligible for loans backed by the Veterans Administration. Instead of coming to the table with camouflage and canteen, these buyers are showing up with extremely low mortgage rates, no PMI requirment, and no money out of pocket, making the process of buying a very smooth one for the veteran, the real estate agent, and the financiers.

When recently asked about the process, Randy, a US Navy veteran and recent home buyer in western North Carolina had this to say, "The whole thing took about 27 days, from the time I got my certificate of eligibility from the VA to closing was 27 days. It really couldn't have been any easier."

The certificate of eligibility he referred to can easily be found by a veteran in very little time by simply navigating to VA.gov, or by simply visiting the nearest Dept. of Veteran Affairs office.
