The Henderson County Public School system receives both state and national recognition as one of the
top districts in the state, and currently boasts 7 Schools of Distinction and an Honor School of Excellence.
The public school system consists of 13 elementary schools that operate on both traditional and year-round
schedules, 4 middle schools, 4 high schools, one charter school and one alternative school.
